Hunters Of The Alps perform “Time (How To Love)” at HOC Fest 2016

Singer/songwriter Mario Giancarlo, singer/songwriter and producer Jorge Velásquez, and drummer Alex De Renzis combine their talents as the band, Hunters of the Alps.

Hunters of the Alps began as an electro-tinged collaboration where Mario and Jorge could focus on different aspects of their musicality they had previously sidelined. They describe their music as moody, electro body moving dark rock pop. Alex has joined in as a drummer to play an integral role in the band both in the studio and live performances.

The band is inclined to stretches of mood building synths anchored by mid and up tempo beats. Gifted with combining their depth of knowledge to produce catchy melodies, danceable grooves, and heartfelt lyrics, Hunters of the Alps continues to prove that Miami-based talent has its place in the global music market.

Always eager to perform, HOTA has opened up for various renowned acts such as Tanlines, Twin Shadow, and throughout their musical career with world known indie rock groups (The Killers, The Walkmen, Franz Ferdinand, Peter Hook, The Stills and more).

Ximena Sariñana plays stripped down “La Vida No Es Fácil” single

Ximena Sariñana is a Mexican singer-songwriter and actress. In 2009, she received critical acclaim and a Grammy nomination, and 2 Latin Grammy nominations for her debut album, Mediocre.

Her sophomore album was a step in a different direction, and Billboard.com describes it as, “a collection of English-language songs showcasing her ethereal voice, thoughtful lyrics and offbeat personality.” Her latest album, ‘No todo lo puedes dar’, is entirely all in Spanish and was produced by the acclaimed John Congleton, who has worked with artists such as St. Vincent.

We filmed this project during the LAMC festival in July 2015 realizing we couldn’t pass upthe opportunity to invite so many great hispanic artists coming through NY in the same week. Each band brought a completely different vibe to our space and we were touched when some of them made special song arrangements just for The House of Creatives. Mishu and The HoC have strong latin roots and we needed to showcase the talent currently surging from the community, it was really special having them perform and hang out with us.

The Colourist visits Palm Springs to perform “Little Games”

Having spent much of 2012 honing their live show with the likes of Grouplove, Electric Guest and Dale Earnhardt Jr. Jr.,

The Colourist begin 2013 holed up in a small studio in Southern California. It’s there that Adam Castilla (vocals, guitar), Maya Tuttle (drums, vocals), Kollin Johannsen (guitar, bass), and Justin Wagner (bass, keys) committed their pop-fueled, indie-bred rock to tape before embarking on their first tour which included appearances at Coachella along with support shows with Metric and Youngblood Hawke and Atlas Genius.

X Ambassadors play “Unconsolable” in Austin

Nearly a decade ago, three of the four young members of Ithaca, New York, quartet X Ambassadors left home with great ambition…

vowing not to look back. Like so many small-town kids before them, they yearned to find fame and fortune in the city. They wanted, as they confess in one of their most powerful new songs, to “go big.” And after years of hustling and overcoming personal challenges, rock stardom felt imminent. But something was missing. Some bands never get that missing piece back, but the potentially great ones go looking for it. More often than not, the search leads them right back home.

X Ambassadors play “Unconsolable” off the album ‘Litost’ at The House Of Creatives Austin 2013.

Dave1 of Chromeo chats with The HoC in Miami

Melding elements of 80s synthesizer New Wave, earnest funk entreaties, and plenty of sheen and schmaltz, Chromeo consistently…

challenge their listeners to consider questions of irony lurking amidst their electro workouts. Dave 1, lead vocalist and guitarist of the duo, challenges assumptions by asserting the sincerity and inherently genuine nature of Chromeo’s music.

Watch an interview with Dave1 of Chromeo at The House Of Creatives Miami 2012. The HoC took over Bardot for interviews and musical performances during Art Basel Miami 2012.
